Dewalt 12V Max Li-Ion Cordless Tool Kit Review
Dewalt has always been one of my favorite tool companies. I recently had the chance to pick up their new compact 12 volt Max Lithium-Ion 3 piece tool set on sale at their repair outlet. The set is comprised of an Impact Driver, Drill and Reciprocating saw, Fast Charger and 2 batteries. I already have many of their cordless 18 volt line of tools but the 12 volt tools have a specific purpose for me, they are light. Anytime I have to do work overhead the 18v tools are crazy heavy, specifically the impact driver, that is my go to tool, it is the tool I use all the time, next most used would be the drill followed by the circular saw. The 18v tools can use both Ni-Cad and Li-Ion 18v batteries, they are interchangeable, but even using the Li-Ion batteries the tools are still quite heavy. Mind you they are super tough and built very well, my 18v tools are 7 years old including the Ni-Cad batteries. So my expectation for the 12v tools are to use them for light work and especially when I need to do overhead work.
The other thing I like about Dewalt is the parts are all modular and repair is easy if something wears out you can get replacement parts. Of course other brands like Ridgid, Milwaukee are similar in that regard. Here is the video review for the set, I will post pictures of the tools soon and a written review for each tool when I have a chance. |
